I have studied art since I was in grade school, then high school, my mother however did not want me to study Art after school, so I ended in finding a job. For many years I still did art, crafts, drawing, and so on.... until I finally gave up on art in general, that was till 6 years ago....
I was introduced to digital art, as i wanted to make my own art for one of my children's books. I have already published a book, but I used another artist to give life to the Flea and his friends in the story. Needless to say I have not even completed the 2nd story yet LOL... I will in due time
It was this year that I decided to quit my job, and get back to my true love which is art... so I used my savings and upgraded my pc and got myself a art screen you draw on a Yonovo.... that opened a whole new world, as well as a whole new world of learning O_O.
And i also took up a subscription with digital tutors.... yes its very expensive.... but I am learning sooo much small details I had trouble with. They have learning paths that you can create that would add into it courses, that you take from low level and introduction to the more advanced stuff.... I have learned all the tools of Photoshop CS6 over the last 6 years so I can use my tool effectively, but I have trouble with dept perception, scene creation and the finer detail that round a painting form nice to wow... So I am now learning my first path... Digital painting.
The path has 21 courses in total, and each course has about 10 to 15 lessons that is up to 2 hours long.... (breaks are advisable as i have done the fist 3 courses of the path and found myself narrating what I do in my head..... not cool....take breaks)
The list of trainers in this courses are spectacular, and most of the large game houses round the skill of their new recruits off with these courses, so I guess it what I need.
The trainers: Kurt Jones; Eddie Russell; Danielle Lyer; Kelly Thompson; Alex Alvarado; Yashar Kassai; Ismall Wamala; Nate Halinan and Jonas De Ro, to name but a few...
I will say this I am learning derail I have not even thought of, and new techniques that I try to use, like the one I painted a leaf with I will defiantly need to use it more.... alsot he one I used for creating the Woogy-Wham creature I posted today.... before i would have left it in stage 1, now with the rounding of this courses, I am finally able to add the skin textures in a way to look realistic and not flat.
I am defiantly happy I took the time to study now, even if I barely have money to live on.... its worth all the hardship at this point...
I fell in love with digital art, because it gave me much more range, it opened a world of opportunity, and I am loving every minute of it....
Even the narrating everything I do is fun.... it does force me to take a day or so break from learning.
Maybe soon I can get my art up to better standards, and even me... since I find the more my art grow the more I grow.... LOL I also find I am less tolerant of others drama and freakouts..... their monkeys not mine...

Its never as bad as you imagine
Today decided it was time to put all my awards and exhibition information together. We all know that being an artist is a constant struggle with self and others words about your ability to create and weather its good enough. 2019 and 2020 has been extremely hard years that took me to breaking point and past. And i also lost my art and photos when a idiot it guy formatted the wrong drive. Some were recovered.
This time of year i always reflect on the past year and close circles and end what no longer is and start a new path. Its the reason i am pitting it all together. Sitting back after hours of work today looking at the amount of exhibition
Trying 3D again
Well this year are truly a rather interesting year this far, with all that is happening in the world and in my life. I moved from Cape Town to Centurion, Gauteng, to be closer to my family. It was crucially important for me to get here before March, and everything worked out in that manner to get me home. I did not know why there was such a desperate force in me to move NOW, as I wanted to move end of April, but there was this incredible force in me demanding "GO HOME NOW". Eventually I gave in and all my arrangements came together in a matter of days, which is something that normally don't happen in my life. Needless to say I got home not long before this Coronavirus went viral, and now I am in lockdown for 11 days already with my family. Soooo now the urgency of the matter makes more sense for if I was to stay where I was, it would have been bad. I guess I do have someone looking out for me after all, at some point I wondered if they were still there. Clearly they are.
